Statement of Faith

Confessed by Men Worth Marrying and required of every Mentor, Founder, and commissioned chapter.

  1. Article 01

    The Scriptures

    We affirm the sixty-six canonical books of the Old and New Testaments as the plenary, verbally inspired, inerrant, and wholly sufficient Word of God, the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice.

  2. Article 02

    The Triune God

    We confess one God eternally existing in three co-equal, co-eternal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

  3. Article 03

    The Person and Work of Christ

    We confess the Lord Jesus Christ, eternal Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, sinless in life, crucified as substitute for sinners, bodily raised from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and returning in glory to judge the living and the dead.

  4. Article 04

    The Holy Spirit

    We affirm the personhood and deity of the Holy Spirit, who convicts of sin, regenerates the believer, indwells the church, distributes gifts for the edification of the body, and empowers the witness of the saints.

  5. Article 05

    Man and the Fall

    We affirm that mankind was created in the image of God, male and female, and that through Adam's disobedience the whole race fell into sin, guilt, and death, from which none may deliver himself.

  6. Article 06

    Salvation by Grace Through Faith

    We affirm that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, apart from works, and that all who are born again are eternally kept by the power of God.

  7. Article 07

    The Church

    We affirm the church, both universal and local, as the body of Christ, called to worship, edification, and the making of disciples of all nations through the preaching of the gospel and the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Table.

  8. Article 08

    Marriage, Sexuality, and Gender

    We affirm that God created humanity as male and female and that marriage is the exclusive covenant union of one man and one woman for life. Any sexual expression outside this covenant is contrary to Scripture.

  9. Article 09

    The Return of Christ and Final Judgment

    We affirm the personal, bodily, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ, the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, everlasting joy for the redeemed and everlasting conscious punishment for the impenitent.
